Dear friends and family,
It is with incredible joy and an overflow of thanksgiving that I am PUMPED to announce that I AM OFFICIALLY FULLY FUNDED!
As of this past week, you- my incredible and greatly appreciated supporters- have helped me reach my support raising goal of $17,417. That’s insane. It is such a weight off my shoulders to be fully funded. Support raising is one less thing I have to worry about while I am on field and (because of you) more of my attention and affections can be directed towards my ministry here. Thank you!!
I had so many wonderfully elaborate (probably too elaborate) plans for my weekly blogs to sum up everything that happened in my first month of the Race in Mozambique. However, Africa. Ha. The wifi here has been less than reliable and posting blogs in the way I planned didn’t happen as expected. For that, I am sorry. I know how important it is to keep all of you at home plugged in to what the Lord has been doing through my squad while we are on field. Please believe that my heart is behind that. There are so many stories I wish I could tell that testify to the Lord’s power and goodness. He has grown me in ways I was unaware I needed growth and He has taught me things I wouldn’t have been able to learn at home.
Mozambique was tough. It was new and difficult. At times my heart ached for home and I felt far beyond my depth. Through all of that though, the Lord has proven Himself more than faithful. Having a week of debrief in South Africa has allowed to process through everything that happened in my first month on field with my leadership, and I and my heart are all the better for it. Mozambique was tough, but it was a good. The Lord wrecked my dependence upon my comforts and called me into His love, where He graciously filled me more sufficiently than any person or possession could. He has taught me more about Himself than I knew before and has opened my eyes to gifts He has given me. So I will rest in the fact that, yeah, Mozambique was good.
Tonight is my last night in South Africa. In the morning, my squad and I head out to Swaziland for Month 2! AW YEAH! Similar to January, I will have very limited/probably no wifi and external communication. Thankfully, a new member of our leadership team has joined the squad to help us get our blogs out and tell our stories! That being said, I hope you look forward to reading my stories as much I look forward to sharing them.
God is good!
Love, Katy
So proud of you for pressing on!!! Keep it up! Love you dearly. You haven’t missed much here, just like a soap opera, it will be easy to catch up, but most unnecessary. Love you dearly. Hugs!!!!!!!
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND YOUR HEART OPEN. WE ARE ALL BEHIND YOU 1000%
love you bundhes
Hey Katie! What a great testimony to how good it is when we can truly realize how well God can meet our needs when we are stripped of the earthly comforts we think we need. Y’all got through that first month and you have gleaned the good in it! By the way, Ariane told me it was a tough month for both y’alls teams, and we praise God together for all the spiritual growth of each member, the protection of God, and the blessing y’all were to the people you served, as well as the blessing they were to y’all.
What an awesome testimony to God’s faithfulness! We are so excited for you and what God has in store for you this year! You are always in our prayers!
Katy, such an answer to prayer regarding your fund raising. Praise God! I believe we your addition to your Squad, Kara. She was on our daughter Taylors squad. She is a gem. Continuing to pray for you. God will do amazing things through you and your team. Praying for strength, health and protection as you minister.
What a blessing to be fully funded!! may God richly bless all those that support you and are praying for you as you continue this journey with Him!
